Welcome to the forum .Have you considered getting rid of the grass altogether and planting shrubs etc instead? With careful planning you can have something of interest all year round. It's a very strong design of house which could look very striking with good planting.Whereabouts in the UK...

I mean Bug clear or Provado, as they are designed to kill soil based pests as well as translocating into the plant to kill Aphids, scale insect etc. These will also kill the Nematodes, if still active in the soil. If you buy Nematodes they warn you of this fact.

Radiator trick is a good one. I used to just leave trays on the windowsill and wonder why germination was so patchy, turns out the temperature drops overnight were killing half of them. Even just a few days of bottom heat makes a massive difference for chillies especially.

i think depends on your area as if the insects are already around small amounts can still be found and used. most of what im planting is around in the area already just not in the village anymore

9th March 2026The pansies that were rescued from the ornamental planter have been doing well in the slightly warmer workshop, under the grow lights. Four of them are already flowering or have buds almost ready to open, so these will be planted back out in another week or so. Hopefully a few...
