Thanks for the tip. Will definitely try them next year. I usually order from Chiltern Seeds but are unhappy with the germination rate as soon as cultivars are used.

seed potatoes with long shoots
You can leave them in a cool light space for a while if you're not ready to plant out yet. The shoots will green up and strengthen a bit. Plant carefully as already said.

When to Cut Back Semi-Neglected Lavender and Santolina
Yes a few years ago we visited a garden in Suffolk. They had a border with some very old Lavenders which still looked fine. They said they cut back hard in February-March each year.

Mo Bacter after using Iron Sulphate on Moss in Lawns
We used Mo last year and it has worked fairly well but as said its too early and cold for it to work and if applied it may well be washed away by the rain. The bag states it needs 12c before it...
