I recently bought one, not grown any phormiums before, just spotted this one and bought as it was discounted. Its called the "jester", only supposed to be 1m by 1m, we shall see.

Don't forget to water them in and they will need watering over the summer.

I still say Trump was stupid enough to get dragged into this by Israel, I dont think they will stop whatever happens they have been at war and grabbing land for years, it nothing new to them. They are the problem. And it influence they have over the US.

It's basically just a small gap, not a moat. I keep maybe a hand's width clear around the base of anything woody and mulch right up to that. Once they're properly established and the bark's thickened up it matters less, but for anything newly planted it's worth being careful.

Our allotment neighbour grew them last year, they never actually paid for the plot and we're kicked off and when the new couple took over I explained they had a lovely crop of mangelwurzels to look forward to and I received a very blank expression in return. The ones the lady had planted look...

It survives around here is all I can say, dont have it myself but have seen it in gardens.

Queen of the Night seems to be the consensus here. I've got a few red ones that keep coming back year after year but honestly couldn't tell you what variety they are anymore, the labels vanished ages ago. The red ones always seem the most stubborn about returning which suits me fine.
