The only thing im planting new is lingonberry though im not 100% sure when they are arriving. I have been mulching and putting compost around my plants for years without a hole so i dont have the original containers any more but i can go around the base of all of them tomorrow.

I can't remember the exact name of the yellow variegated one I had - it was no taller than about a metre, so probably one of the cookianum hybrids, not tenax which is the huge one. Called something like Maori Sunrise? I took it out because it was becoming a huge clump and then weeds would grow...

I'm not surprised you getting 10 different answers, there's not a lot to go by at the moment until it gets some leaves at least.The growth habit looks similar to Hibiscus but that is just a wild guess.

We're in Ile de France, so quite far North. The soil in our garden has many earthworms in it - I'm hoping that's a good sign!

It survives around here is all I can say, dont have it myself but have seen it in gardens.
