What's your weather like 2026
Started out sunny but frosty, I hope it hasn't done any damage.Thin layer of cloud has moved in now so still bright but I'm sure it will just get thicker as the day progresses.

Removing Ivy from Fence and ground
Last year we had a thrush nesting in our neighbours’ ivy on a brick wall. The removed it all last month. I haven’t seen or heard the thrushes since.

Am i understanding this correctly ?
A simple way to think about it is that a tree or shrub feeds from its roots. The roots spread through the ground so it is not feeding close to the trunk/main stem. So no need to mulch/compost...

This is P. Cookianum Tricolor. Phormiums do tend to be upright when young but develop an arching habit as they become established, developing longer leaves with more weight
