You can get rolls of green metal edging which do a similar job to the log rolls which @lizzie27 mentioned. Not really the most attractive edging IMO and timber would seem more suited to the look...

Thanks regarding the dog violets as well, I have loads of them in the back garden. They seem to really love it there in the shady places and also edges of the lawn

I think I'll just do my usual and mix jacks magic with ji no3 and sharp sand.It works ok but was hoping for a cheaper option.I bought a bag or two of some unknown stuff a couple of years ago...

What's buzzing flying near you 2026
