Fed to laying hens for protein. Despite 'free range' , many hens choose not to leave their shed and the range does not provide sufficient without supplement

Potato Growing 2026
Probably because they have the chemicals that can be used on some of the potential problems that the ordinary gardener doesn't have access to. Blight etc, admittedly viruses are a bigger problem.

Perovskia - how much would you cut down?
That looks fine That's about the height that I reduce my Verbena bonariensis to. Your Perovskia shouldn't be tempting for slugs anyway because of the strongly scented, tough, silvery foliage....

@Obelix-Vendée there doesn't seem to be any reason established as to their demise or inability to breed. The Guillemots population there does get hammered by Raven predation.
