What are we doing in the garden 2026
Did some weeding of the gravel ‘garden’ by the pond, moved a couple of Foxgloves, planted a fern under my big Acer, grass cut (ok not by me), and had a lovely potter about.

I dont see this as something you are going to sort out in one fell swoop, unless you just rip everything out along that fence, do you want a border along the fence? If not then as you say grass...

Got to 27c today, that's inside the house

Plants you don't grow
I used to have a Sumac tree in a previous garden. I did actually like it but it certainly likes to travel !! Not ideal for the average garden but makes an impressive roadside avenue.

I am often puzzled by modern life.
My neighbour has wind chimes in the back garden - we don't hear them unless we are out there and usually as far up the garden as the greenhouse.. .something quite nice about hearing them tinkle...

Any update on how these went, Jungle Jane? The ones producing fruit before leaves is a classic fig cutting thing, they put energy into fruiting before bothering with roots. Usually a good sign...
