    I think that cats and dogs are less prone to munching plants than many people believe, if they weren't quite good at distinguishing between poisonous and non poisonous plants they'd have died out...

    I would say that if the roots still look viable then there is a chance it will burst into top growth. The ones I have lost (not specifically figs) that root well but show no top growth, normally...
