I am often puzzled by modern life.

I'm glad you haven't had the experience of little or no admin; I have been on two forums that suffered.

    What shrub is this?

The one at RHS Rosemoor is over 10 m tall and in flower it's like a yellow wall. Mine is just over 1 m and nearly 3 years old, no signs of flowers yet and the shoots are just developing this spring.

You should always try to slow the wind rather than a solid block, which is why hedges work better than fences.
