I've got a cristata and it is always spring flowering, but I keep it bone dry and fairly cold all winter, it's only just starting to grow now. Usually flowers outside in may. It's a small division from an old plant that had got too big and heavy to bring in the winter before last.

Thanks @shiney I actually like the construction site phase. This is not a makeover TV show, things take time- and it's fun to look back at old photos to see the gradual transformation.But I do sometimes wish a bit more of gentle deadheading wearing a flowery dress and perhaps a straw hat...

In what we call our 'Wild Area' the Primula family are still flowering. Many years ago we planted a few red Cowslips there and they crossed with some wild ones and the Primroses from around the garden sent there young ones to play there. We also have/had a lot of wild orchids but almost none...
