has anyone here had any luck with rooting cuttings of these? i'm getting some from tenerife in september and want to know how easy they are from cuttings

wouldn't be better to have some big stepping stones and the succulents more on the side?

I live in an apartment and don't have much surface space in the kitchen area - plus we find them quite ugly and after 2.5 years of living here, we've never really needed one I always find they damage the area they're on top of and we don't want to lose our deposit.My parents' broke last year...

Agree, looks like a young Ferocactus. Hard to identify at this stage.

I agree.When you do repot, do so carefully. The pads break off very easily.

yes get a new pot, slightly larger, but not too much larger because they like cramped roots - but make sure the pot has good drainage - then put the plant in a sandy, soil mix. It will drain easier, and flower better (hopefully)
