It's recovering, I told her everything you said and she has been just watering at the sides of the pot and letting it sort of soak across or whatever the technical term is. Wahoo! Thanks all.

I've planted them this year in J Arthur Bower’s cactus compost. I see plants like it. Before I used 100% peat based compost plus sand. And the covering - stones from the seashore.

Could be mitriformis, or have some mitriformis parentage.Trying to ID an Aloe, especially without a flower is not simple.Aloes hybridise freely. And many clones doing the rounds are of unknown origin. Also, a lot of Aloes grown in less than ideal conditions (too much water, too little light)...

Keith, the third and fourth plants on the right hand tray are Echeverias.

35F as a nightime minimum? If so, I'm sure you could grow many types of Opuntia, just avoid the ones that come from the tropics.

Given them 2 good sprayings with soapy water, will get some meths when out shopping .

Time and effort of growing them on. Then storage during dormancy, sorting out the viable flowering sized ones, packing, transport etc.................To get the rarer species means using a specialist supplier who'll grow them on a much smaller scale.

They will be pulled up and put away for the winter, all are in pots. I'll post as it k its together Wayne

My A.striatula has come through happily too, despite being in a small pot.

No problem. Personally, I would start again and root some cuttings. Wait a few weeks until the days are longer and the weather is warmer. And then cut a few "chains" of segments, leave to dry for a few days, and then re-root in fresh soil.
