Thanks Pete. I thought it looked like yours. Heaven only knows where it came from as I discovered it in the Kalanchoe pot that I had had for donkey's years!

Should add that once the leaves below the pups drop through old age they are basically the same as those that form at the base of the stem.

I've never actually managed to find the actual insect in the soil I've only seen the white patches.
