I have a savings account with one bank and my current account with another. They are linked and money can only be paid from the savings account to the current account.I have always been very careful about spam and possible virus attacks, but so much time was taken up with spam emails...

If you turn it over and look at the silver ID label, it should give you the model number which you can then drop into a Google search and get a user's manual. You'll likely need a cd-rom, of course.

So it did it again today ,i wasn`t clicking the x or double clicking either, in the end i closed it down went to explorer ,its so slow in comparison, for a bit then went back and it was ok.Just as if it resets something.

I had tried Yahoo storage in the past, but 'personal storage' now gets blocked on my work PC so I can't use it as much as I'd like. I also used to be limited on broadband usage at home so that stopped me using them as much. Although, as a web developer I suppose I'm using the cloud when I upload...

Just something to be aware of. It doesn't bother me even though our 2 main PCs and the laptop run XP. There will be plenty of 'old' 512 byte per sector drives available for a few years yet if I ever need to replace one (as I did recently).

All you really need to recover your data files is a "live" CD of any OS. Boot it from the live CD and you can then access your files. Copy them to another HDD or Flash drives, then re-install Windows or WHY. An easy way out and needn't cost anything.
