I use Ubuntu/Linux, this works the opposite way. Nothing can be done to the system unless the password is given to do it. Only the administrator can alter the system (with the password).

Bookmarks (Firefox) = Favourites (Internet Explorer), are a way to save a website address to avoid having to type it all into the address line, very useful for long addresses.

I use a very good web editor (and it's free), they do a Windows version (I use Ubuntu/Linux and that's free too).The new Internet Suite "Seamonkey" has a web editor among other things,

Hi Feathers I found i had that problem last week when i went to delete something else i found 100s of the same 5 pics, so i will try the same remedies as you By the way i dont think 450 pics from 2 weeks OTT if they are all as beautiful as the ones you posted :wink:

I've got the main computer up and running now. It's better than ever. I had a problem with a Windows related file wanting to load and then refused, I tried to remove it without success. Re-installing Ubuntu did the trick, so no more aggravation.My next project is to move three domains from one...

Rosa.Do you have handset phones by any chance...they have a power cable to the base unit plus a lead to your BT socket? If you have this type of phone, if the base unit is near your computer and the phone is not in its cradle, you will get interference.

Sound now fixed evidently needed a different driver for Vista!

Perhaps a 'sticky' thread about this would be a good idea as it tends to come up every few weeks!

well I use the dock at the bottom (the cool bar ) instead of icons as you mentioned it's very simmilar to what mac os x looks like, I like you wallpaper by the way :D

I have an Mac, it says on it MacBook Pro. It is my companies, but I can do with it whatever as long as I get reports done ect. I can even take it on vacations with me. I am on a quick one now--two days at the shore. Someone in this building has wireless so here I can be. Last vacation a week...

yes Daisees i can remember when you had that it must of been very slow going, I have a hub its supposed to be wireless but my pc guy connected it and he made my lap top wireless, as he says unless you have a few pcs in your home its pointless having wireless he reckons they are half...

Hmmm - I got mine from A4Tech direct.

He's got his new computer. All up and running. The paintshop was fine, the greetings cards wouldn't work. But he as got another one for £15 so thats O.k.

Just a thought - would anyone care to have a forum for blogs here?
