I use Mozilla Thunderbird, you can train it to junk the spam. I need this as some of my email boxes are widely advertised so do attract hundreds of spam emails (I've had over 90 junked at download stage from one box).

I do agree Hex, the first thing I do after formatting a disk is show the extensions, and also show all hidden system files. I like to know what's on my disk.Another thing you can do if you suspect trouble is from Windows Explorer/Tools do a Find all *.exe and *.DLL (etc - or even all files)...

Hi Rosa Just to make you feel better ....I use IE7 as my browser, Wanadoo/Orange France IS my ISP...and at the top left corner of my page there is the IE Icon, then its Gardeners Corner, Post a Reply, Wanadoo .....so it's just showing us where we are :D :D and I've just realised why...

Things have moved on a bit Dave haven't they. But I think I learnt more from the old machines than the new ones that do everything for you whether you want it or not. When I started there was virtually no software around. So you had to either write it yourself in basic, or get a bootleg copy....
