    Haha, yes! Leycesteria grows right next to it, but it wants to grow all over my garden.Thank you! It was left in this house by previous tenants I think. I'll go for the Alpines and succulents. :)

    I believe the "pom pom" effect is achieved by cloud pruning, not the natural growth habit, so it might need some maintenance to keep the shape because Leylandii won't regrow if cut back to brown...

    Agree with what's been said above Phyllostachys tends to spread by runners, but Fargesia is clumping, so is probably more suitable to grow in a containerFargesia scabrida "Asian Wonder" is nice...
