Stuttgart Giant Onion Size..
I usually grow Stuttgart from sets and they are normal sized (around 4" diameter), they store well and have a flat bottom, that's as much as I know.

Lovely hardy endive!

Beetroot ... which is better "Solist" or "Monika"
Pickled beetroot ,yes please love it.Also beetroot steaks roasted (boiled beetroot,them cut into steaks coated in breadcrumbs ,ooooooooo. Beetroot also makes a very good red wine with ginger.

POTATO BLIGHT
If your last potato crop was grown in bags was infected with blight then you should be able to kill off any remaining nasties by soaking them in a solution consisting of 10% cheap/'Value' bleach...
