    Apparently this is nothing more than a gardening myth. Tests done by some lab or other ( can't recall the name ) proved that tomatoes require warmth to ripen, but not sunlight... in fact direct...

    Welcome WP, yes you can use those beans for new plants next year. Remove them from the pods and store in an envelope, label it and keep till next spring when you can sow them. Steve...:)
