I use the side-shoots to grow new plants alongside my early ones. I've already nipped out the top of my early plants and the new young plants (grown from the side-shoots) will take over in a month or two. I just push the side-shoots into the soil next to the parent and away they go.

Mangetout - Flowering, any action necessary?
We've managed to grow these too, though my canes aren't tall enough..they seem to be a lot easier to grow than the proper peas which aren't doing very well!

I should just say that in the past week we've harvested about 4 kilos of fruit from our cherry, and there is still loads left for the birds. Clearly I was worrying about not very much at all.

Small tomato plant has tomatoes!
Is it a bush type (i.e. a low growing one that doesn't need pinching out or staking)? Looks like it. If so, just water and feed with tomato feed regularly, and enjoy your toms!
