We don't buy any foods with Aspartame in them. It's quite easy to avoid them as we don't use pre-packaged foods.

I did a similar thing last year after hours of research and making lists, went to the garden centre and bought the wrong variety, got a second early (Charlotte) instead of a main crop. It still produced lots of good spuds though

Great guide, thank you. I am sure you are right but I thought it might be interesting to experiment with a very small number of early sowings using my grow lights (LED lights which apparently hardly use up any electricity) to extend the daylight hours after dusk until there is more daylight....

If anybody would like to pop over and dig mine up you'd be more than welcome. I'm sure they wouldn't mind being transplanted, they've put up with just about everything else without batting an eyelid.

Id be covering crops in fleece never bubble plastic in a polytunnel. Bubble plastic over fleece if outside to stop the fleece getting wet and freezing only. IMHO

Totally forgot about my order from the allotment shop!! Thats a whole lotta tatties!!

Have just bought one of those to supplement my other propagators! The pic is the electric heated version currently sitting on my dining room table awaiting unpacking...

I try to avoid stored potatoes sprouting by preparing a good part of our harvest into products that freeze, so amongst others that would be, mash, chips, dauphinoise, boulangere, croquettes I even make and freeze a few Anna. The rest of the harvest is used as normal so that by this time of year...

I'm desperate to get out & do something! I think it must be almost time to get the seed trays out & make a start! The window ledges looked good last year with the sunflowers growing on them, only one neighbour asked if I was growing drugs! At the time I was horrified

Don't worry I didn't take it as nasty at all sounds like sensible sound advice to be honest. I'm not convinced a tiny plant can produce lots of apples either. I guess it is quite faddy. Fingers crossed though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
