Ill definitely consider em steve as theyve a great selection. Unfortunately im based in NI so postage is always a killer, plus i get pipers or pinks free from commercial growers, but the choice is fantastic!

I took this pic on sunday. They dont seem to be growing an awful lot - will be chopping off some leaves i think to see if that helps.

Guess you could say the carrots have perked up ..a lot! Have left them to their own devices - the weeds have taken over. Really need to get there in next couple of days to weed!

I grow autumn king and once upon a time lifted them and put them in boxes to store over winter. However over the last 3 or 4 years have just left them in the ground and they have lasted just fine. This year we ate our last freshly lifted carrots in late April - a tad hairy but prefectly edible..

It makes things easier if you want to build a permanent frame for growing the beans.

Thanks mate. Really appreciate it and, all the other advice given so far.I will never give up on this hobby as it is so rewarding. Got some other plants like roses, edibles like chillies and a few others as well.

Hi.. great to see the comparison!I just picked a few tomatoes tonight, and some of the larger ones are now just starting to ripen. I must start them earlier next year.I too was surprised at what I had grown. Although i put labels on them, I still managed to mix up my courgettes, gherkins...

My celery is self blanching so I don't need to make the paper or cardboard collars. If yours are not self blanching, then this might help

We are 'worm central' here. Every time I move pots there they are - wriggle wriggle.Looks like I will have to source worm tower materials from elsewhere. The skip was removed whilst I was out running errands. Glad I asked about the pallets first thing.I think I need to read up more on it. I...

Remove the old straw and netting so birds can get into the strawberry plants and pick off bugs. Pull off old damaged leaves. Remove excess runners, use them in another bed to build up stock as strawberries exhaust themselves after 3 years.

You're running the risk of disease if you replant potatoes from the supermarket.Seed potatoes are grown in the windy frozen north that is Scotland as the wind keeps the pests off that carry viruses/fungus.Some nurseries will have Charlottes in now specifically for growing for Christmas, but...

Just an update on my situation, i sent the dead trees back to them last week and confirmed today, they are sending me new ones out this week. Any news on yours @kazzawazza ?

In the end I decided to just let mine flop (or they would have shaded out the adjacent polytunnel). They do seem to be drinking rather heavily.
