Garden Visits

Wotcha Freddy, I thought a few of us would like the Toms, there were several of them like that around the place. I got single parent National Trust membership for this year, been making the most of it. They even drive me round the place when i've got my walking stick

Well worth growing - if you get a couple to start with (and take more care of them than I did) you should have enough stock to bloom every year after three or four years.

I can remember when I was a kid, we visited this place in the States that had a whole hill of rainbow flowers. People could tour it and walk next to the flowers in the field. Do you have an attraction like that near you?

Yeah, the Stronglodon macrobotrys is really quite a stunner. When I get a chance, I must go back sometime, but there are so many places....

been to the Wildflower centre to buy some plants and had a stroll round the gardens. There was not much to see at this time of the year but they had a nice living room display...

Going to NP on Saturday to visit my Mum but I doubt if we'll be able to go out anywhere.

Saw the Bellagio Musical fountains in Vegas three years ago. We went out of our way to vivsit the Botanical Gardens in Paris a couple of years ago but it was bare and the Palm House was closed for repair, a real let down.:(

Done that before, when the kids were little we had one of those solar shower bottles on top of the caravan, it heated up during the day, you'd soap yourself up & then charge naked into it to wash the soap off before it ran out or the neighbours saw you. Was a treetree with the nettles though.

They have a small stall with a few plants for sale but not very many and not a nursery! A very nice relaxed garden, not too many visitors and loads of unusual plants.

If you build something on a peninsular, its not going to be the in place to go off season. I'd move it to Birmingham :D
