That's what I did, only I used 4 250x250 flagstones to weigh it down, as it was quite blustery, and mine was up at the top of the garden, it was just a shame the cover on mine went, although it was probably partly my fault.

Sounds alright, i`d cover it with white poly or paint it white as the black will get very hot and cook the roots inside. I had moss growing on the underside of the weed barrier i used for my tomato hammock, its finally given up the ghost and started to tear along the back edge where its clamped...

Best option, worked for me for twenty years. If the ground is reasonably compacted after digging out, 3X2 paving slabs aren't goint to shift as long as they are level and the weight will be distributed along the length. Never had a paving slab crack.

Improved ventilation and drainage (or at least avioding leaving the surface wet for long periods) would probably help as would a bit of lime. Mosses like damp acidic conditions. If you have a really bad infestation you'd possibly benefit by removing the top inch of soil as it will contain moss...

I would like a mini greenhouse and wonder which ones are sturdy and worthwhile buying. I dont want a walk in greenhouse, just one that has shelves in that I can unzip and put my plants in.. Thanks :gnthb:

Hello rmoyes and welcome.I wouldn't bother with replacing the thermostat. They are bimetalic strips and I suspect that there is a big difference (hysteresis loop) between the on and off temperatures, which can waste electricity.I have a similar heater, but I ignore the inbuilt thermostat...

Hello & welcome Jim.Those are good ideas, I'm all for saving money. I have been manually switching off my cheap non-thermostatically controlled propogator during the day as it has been warm enough with what little sunshine we have. I've got a spare timer so I'll start using it - it's good...

Use growbags and follow instructions.Feed every tiome you water but at a reduced rate

Check and see what the temperature drops to overnight in there, as opposed to outside or in the house.

Maybe use some bleach first (keep it away from plants of course!) - leave it for a couple of hours then use a hose or power washer (use on low setting).

Sounds more like you may have nutrient deficiency there flowerpotty. How old are they.?

Auto openers are about £18 i think.Very useful and easy to fit.I also have a louvre window which I bought in B and Q. Cant recall the price but it seems quite a good one. Hope this helps

i got my greenhouse from freecycle loopy

just spent a very long day with Mrs Plantman removing glass from our 6 x 10 greenhouse, moving it 2ft, then cleaning and replacing glass....it wasn't much fun I wouldnt recomend it if your looking for a fun saturday.

Forgot to say I have now got the greenhouse up with most of the glass in. I am 5 panes of glass short due to them being broken before I moved it.

..also try to get a get a decent height difference between the top and bottom vents.
