I've found it hardy in the Cotswolds in the pond.

Mentha sp. Maybe Mentha arvensis.

Purple Pixie was just a suggestion. I cannot be sure . I don't have a great deal of experience with Hebe. We grew a few. One outgrew the space. It was pruned...and died. Maybe we did it too hard or at the wrong time. A hard winter killed the others!

Thank you very much @pete it definitely is! Ive just gone googling and im sure its Gerbera "Everlasting White" as it looks identical and has the sneaky little bit of pink on the reverse of the petals also relieved to see that it's the hardy one i have!

Looks like it's wings haven't properly formed - shame as it's probably unable to fly.

I agree with Dai, it can be a thug but a very attractive one.It also has the peculiar habit of producing good growth and prolific flowers for years and then suddenly dying with no sign of having been unhappy.

@Tim ShieldsDrowning in beer. I've been trying it on myself for years but to no avail .However, those white slugs are a particular menace as they have a severe fondness for plant foliage.If you ever stumble across a Leopard slug or two, take them home as they feed on other slugs and rotten...

If you have any birds as pets @merleworld they will love Chickweed to nibble on.

Firs tend to have flat "leaves", and the upright blue/purple cones are a dead give away.

As far as I know they all do. It's not the colouring on yours which stood out for me (although it is beautiful) ... it's the lack of slug or snail damage to those leaves!!!
