    Definitely a protea, beautiful, very long lasting cut flower. I used to use them a lot when I was a florist but their stems are so thick it made holding the bouquet a b@@@er:spinning:

    We were lucky to, almost, eradicate a large amount of ground elder. It was in separate beds and covered a total of approx. 250 sq. ft. We now just get the odd plant appearing. It only took about 30 years to dig it all out. :phew:

    Yeah, looks like loquat to me. Keep it somewhere nice and sheltered and sunny. I personally like the fruit and it forms a handsome tree.
