This was ours tree in South Wales...taken in the autumn 28th Oct 2011. It flowered for the first time just as we put the house up for sale...so we never saw it in its full magnificence.

Hello It looks like Spiraea 'Goldflame'. Has beautifully coloured leaves and flat heads of dusty pink flowers.

I love the Cistus (Rock Rose) which are a wildflower here. Mostly we have C ladanifer (white) and in the hills locally C albidus (lavender).

Sorry Kandy but Crataegus monogyna leaves are very distinctive...see....Not convinced that leaves fit Spiraea nipponicum.Maybe it is Spiraea betulifolia?wise owl..it would not be the first time to buy a shrub named X, only to discover years later it is actually Z..maybe you were...

It's constant battle every year to protect your cherished garden plants but it keeps you busy and on the alert be the enemy Red Lily Beetles, Slugs, Caterpillars, ants, etc.
