Sorry Kandy but Crataegus monogyna leaves are very distinctive...see....Not convinced that leaves fit Spiraea nipponicum.Maybe it is Spiraea betulifolia?wise owl..it would not be the first time to buy a shrub named X, only to discover years later it is actually Z..maybe you were...

Hi Jan,I'm not sure in the grass, it could be Pampas Grass ( Cortadeira) someone else maybe able to help you more there.The bottom pic is Saxifraga Urbium, commonly known as London Pride. This is a really pretty plant that will spread but is easy to control by removing the separate rosettes...
