    Shrub with red flowers to ID please

    Visted Chester Zoo earlier this year and they use the golden one a lot in their planting schemes, the mature specimens looked stunning :dbgrtmb:.......after that I bought a lovely healthy young specimen...:)

    Anyone know this tree?

    Unless its grown for its tropical look with huge leaves, in that case you would be cutting it back to almost ground level each March.. Left to its own devices as you say not one for small gardens..:)

    Id please

    Looks like Aronia melanostica,aka Chokeberry. The berries are bitter as the seeds contain a lot of Cyanins. However, they do make a very nice sharp Jam when processed to remove the seeds.
