It does spread profusely. Just pull it out where you don't want it. I've left mine at the back of borders close to fencing. It gives blue/purple spikes through to late summer.

Agree re the first one being a Paeonia. The second one looks like a deciduous Azalea, possibly Luteum

I got a Peony off free cycle last year (around June/July) and it had been dug up quite roughly, the spade slicing through the tuber, but I potted it up and cut it back; as the leaves and stems were all damaged anyway, I left the tuber just marginally below the surface and it came into to growth...

Well I learnt something today with this plant.Well its not what I thought it was. I thought it had grown low and spread width ways as thats what it looked like.poss why pic was a bit confusing as well, I had a good look at it. There is a huge bigger heavier type bush next to it.Which has grown...

of course i'm excited about both but its the first time i get to see lilies "in the wild" as opposed to seeing them in a flower shop. i didn't even know what their foliage looked like thanks gcc for the info on the peony. I will tag it then and let it be until autumn.
