    I.D. Probable Weed

    It does spread profusely. Just pull it out where you don't want it. I've left mine at the back of borders close to fencing. It gives blue/purple spikes through to late summer.

    Agree re the first one being a Paeonia. The second one looks like a deciduous Azalea, possibly Luteum :)

    of course i'm excited about both but its the first time i get to see lilies "in the wild" as opposed to seeing them in a flower shop. i didn't even know what their foliage looked like :) thanks...
