It's a globe courgette. Courgettes don't have balls as they are all female.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I think I will try to cultivate it, as I had brought some ragged robin and teasel seeds to try to add some nice wild flowers to my garden. And some wouldn't go amiss in my white border when I create it!! And when you see how much wild flower seeds cost per packet,...

That's it! I remember the name now... I bought it 3 years ago from Rare Plants sale, thought it had died. Must be quite hardy to have survived last winter. What a lovely surprise! I hope the flowers do open, they look really pretty in the search images. Thanks to all for replies.

Well I did say small tree/bush but yes its about 6 feet tall and just going over.How do I go about taking a cutting and getting it to root ??Thanks for your quick reply x

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Lynda MBE, If you can get the root out, yes. They grow upto a metre long and can be as thick as a baby's arm. I make my own Dandelion Coffee, might try blending it with that.

I am glad you did. I try not to be overcautious with the older one but the toddler is still little so I tend to err on the side of caution a bit with her. I kept the barberry bushes because the berries taste horrid but aren't dangerous so I thought it was quite a good teaching plant so to...

Very easy to grow - I keep all of mine on the kitchen windowsill where they get late afternoon sun, and water them once or twice a week. When the flowers on the spike die off, look for the next spur (bud) and cut it off to there. It will make a new spike of flowers.
