Hmm well it could be a very young Pale tussock larvae/caterpillar.? They are supposed to look white & hairy when small & the body is usually a pale greenish colour

Don`t know what the first is, but the second certainly looks like Star Anise. All I know about the first is, it isn`t a member of the onion family.

A cardoon is an ornamental artichoke - and it definitely looks like my one. mine is also covered in blackfly, and it is also best to remove the flower heads to promote strong foliage, which is what is is usually grown for. If you let the flowers grow and go to seed, then the foliage really suffers!
