    If thats a recent picture and taken in Edinburgh, I would doubt thats its privet - it just looks to be in too good a condition for this time of year

    You've got a lot of salady stuff there. With mixed salads it makes it easier to wait for a bit of growth, until you can spot some sort of uniformity, you'll soon get your eye in for the salads.

    What is this pretty plant?

    Having seen samphire for sale in the fish shop on dungy, I tend to say its not.I also dont think its seakale. To me the parsley/ carrot route, looks more likely.
