I've actually seen it growing on motorway banks along with evening primrose. Not sure if it was scattered seed or its just escaped, but it looks good, I think.

I would say from the amount that is growing we should be knee deep in dead cattle probably stories are exagerated as botanist says.

If you lived closer Paul, I could give you some young Agapanthus in bud!!

update: it has been officially declared dead :( I hope one day I will be able to grow my pretty drooping baby.....

Update on tree at cressage. My friend took this picture today showing the cherry fruit. thank you all again for helping. He has chosen to not have one afterall with drainage a problem.LindaC in Oklahoma USA

That was taken last year spot. This year it was not as prolific, think it had a lot to do with the weather to be honest.

I see I was right about the Mallow - nice to have an exact ID now! Just to add to the notes on the page quoted - they do seed very easily in the growing position; in fact, in my experience they self-seed quite prolifically given half a chance!Anthony

:thumb: Nice one Claire... :D Always nice to let Mother Nature & the birds have a hand in what you grow... Some of our wild flowers are so pretty, you actually like having them pop up... As good as a cultivated plant any day...:D:D After all aren't all plants weeds or all weeds plants...!!!:D...

Ah- that's why I couldn't find it... didn't think it might not be a rock plant! It's very pretty, and has a lttle wall in front that it can grow down if it gets big enough. Thanks!
