    Ravenmad, instead of an Acer go for Liquidamber, it has the same shape of leaf, the same Autumn colours but is a lot hardier. David.

    I wasn't sure afterwards as you said it had light green leaves as solanum usually are mid to dark green but a variegated one might be lighter green. I have not seen one so I am not really familiar...
