the sempervivum is probably tectorum, they are so variable, that a positive i.d. of the exact cultivar could be nigh on impossible. The sedum could be acre. Once again, quite variable. Hope this helps. Both are so, so easy to propagate but both are invaluable for the rockery/ground cover type thing

@groundbeetleOne of my favourite books as well and like you have had it for years. I also have a set of prints of Marjorie Blamey's Seasons, illustrations of flora and fauna in each season, the detail is fantastic.

Yes, it looks like Symphoricarpos x chenaultii 'Hancock' and is also known as Snowberry although not the one with white berries. We used to plant S c "Hancock" on many of our larger landscape projects.Blackstart

Thanks folks! I'm slightly regretting having booted that clump then - but of course that's only the fruiting body and not the actual main fungus. I'm happy to let it do its thing with the mulch then.

I used to grow them outside . They have one in NTS garden in Perth.Scotland But I must add these are new ones introduced from ???? They tend to be very expensive and only available from specialist nurseries such as Crug Farm ..where Sue and Bleddyn brought back seeds from plant hunting...

Sadly it is less a foot but a sturdy stem ... hence why I did not photograph it! My Pink Brugmansia is on a "grow slow" as well.
