    Few plants for Identification

    The tree is a Field Maple Acer campestre and can grow to quite a size if the roots are not confined and branches trimmed.. Not a tree for a raised bed Or close to a house, hence its name..

    You are right strongylodon :)Sally, the grit is available from garden centres, DIY stores, etc. A small bag prob costs £3 or so and you only enough to surface cover the soil in pots. :)
