Love Angelinas Rhododendron Schlippenbachii! I'm a week or two behind on the Polygonatum front too, but a few weeks ago there was no sign of it so I'm not complaining. Although the blooms are almost over I love the foliage of the Uvularia grandiflora.............

These photos are 9 days later - took them last night. and a closer shot taken 4 days ago (less than a week after the ones in my first post). It's a very rewarding plant.

I agree with Jenny, you've got a lot of potential in the new garden and dare I say a better climate to garden in? It's going to be interesting to see how you settle down and start to get time to turn your attention to the garden and ideas for it.

It's a no win situation then. I lived amongst farmland in my last house and miss the pheasants now.........but not the rabbits.

I was taking some photographs of the orange orchards around us earlier and thought ... 'something looks familiar here' ... ... it wasn't the orchards but the shadows that were being created ... Here is a picture I took on 8 April 2008 (and put somewhere here on GC) called Shadows ... me on...

Just had a google, turns out the 06's were 0-4-0 & the 0-6-0's were 03 class. I do remember seeing a shunter on the Isle of Wight & thinking there were only a couple of those in existance, will probably have to google that too.

Thanks Ziggy. We're losing the cliffs at a rate of six feet a year. My home is just 200 yards away. Don't think I'll be around to worry though.

Stayed there back in the 60s.. Ahh memories.. We stayed in what I remember as a beautiful hotel on the High St I think & it had a covered garage at the back.. Strange what memories stick in your mind..
