Alex,a dope on a rope to me is an aircrewman in the back of normally sar aircraft, hence when lowered on the winch we have the dope on the rope

Thanks - but I should make it clear, this garden was my dad's creation. I'm just doing a restoration job on it. I'm having a lot of fun now. Seeing the plants we've kept start to thrive now that they're not competing with masses of weeds.

Yep, a lot of coach fatigue but we have done one before (East Coast) so we know what to expect.oh I forgot to mention Lead, Cody, Shoshone NP, Crazy Horse Memorial, Black Hills, Painted Deset and Jackson.:D

When I was Sandringham recently I saw a fabulous very old Wisteria grown as a standard. The perfume and the colour - magical. So I'm going to have a try as a specimen plant in the middle of the weed patch called my lawn. Researched the most appropriate wisteria variety - and ended up with...

The garden is coming on Pam, the plants in pots are probably more advanced now.

Hi rosietu ... I'm very, very much into Sage/Salvia at the moment .... I have pink, blue (dark and light), white, lavender, peach, rose ... you name it ... even ones called Victoria .... my namesake ... It is a fantastic plant/shrub .... can't have enough of them here .... which is funny...

i am so glad that after splitting them they are still doing alright this year .here is another split one doing ok in a tall planter. with a couple of duckling friends

I have had a good look but I don't recognise many of them, shame on me!! I have seen pics of your garden before and it was amazing, these individual ones are beautiful and there is such a range of colour. The irises and poppies etc I know but not the alpines. A labour of love. I am surprised...

I normally grow these every year, but not one seed has germinated this year...from about 50 or so planted. I might try some directly in the ground next week, might be a bit late but worth a try I guess.....I hope..:DNice going Gilly, I'm ever so slightly envious!Steve...
