Reminded me of a tale from some years back where a guy was working with a lathe (or similar) the rotation of which just happened to match the flickering frequency of the fluorescent lighting - he stuck his hand in the moving machinery thinking it was stationary - and you can guess the rest .

I entered the industry somewhat later, but as a trainee, I did discover a good geek prank I could do. You could send ascii 7 over the network to the dot matrix printer in the next room. I wrote some code that simply did this, then paused for a random number of minutes before looping round again....

OK - I have just ran a route trace, and I am getting timeouts, however I am also getting them with bbc.co.uk, so in my case it is most likely just firewalls stopping pings or responses, or heavy network loads causing ICMP to be disabled somewhere along the line.The only thing I can think of...

We're fortunate in that we have fairly modern controls and they work well. Individual thermostats, a multi-timer, a well insulated hot water cylinder that always has hot water in it and a good boiler and pump that sends hot water through the system very quickly.The house is well insulated so...

Actually I had a very nice outhouse at the cottage many years ago...hung an old bathroom sink on the wall and ran the drainhose down into the pit. Put a mirror and a hold bar over it and voila, urinal for the fellas...I had the interior painted bright and regularly sprinkled sand in the pit...

What I found funny with our car renewal was that they asked me for the value of the cars. I said that they were the experts, not me! So they said that they were unable to give a quote without it.When I asked what they would pay out if the car was written off they told me it would be the book...

It has to be a cold spot... Warm air from the heating meets the cold spot condensation forms. You have to eliminate this or provide ventilation..Mould resistant paints wont cure the problem and it will return...
