Cor, theres no scrapies left like that around us, it used to be great fun wrenching off half axles at the bottom of a stack of cars. All we have are the expensive scrap yards that don't allow you anywhere near the cars.

Personally I find the bought pickling vinegar far too 'in-your-face' to be even remotely pleasant, as a result I make 'sweet' pickled onions (or rather sweet pickled shallots). I use white malt vinegar and to each litre add 180g granulated sugar, heat the mix to dissolve the sugar then boil it...

Can't legally sell homebrew or even use it as tombola/raffle prizes. As for non-alcoholic drinks (there are some people who actually prefer their apple juice unfermented) I've got bottles designed for return and re-use + bags of replacement tops for them.

Call or preferably write to them stating what you believe to have happened with supporting photos. They might just come round and fix it but as you mention, there's bigger things to concern yourself with right now. If the house is being handed back to the council then let them deal with it.
