peter barrets is the best one i visit near gosforth park, newcastle. as well as the lovely garden centre they have a fabulous shop that sells everthing from garden supplies and their gift section is out of this world, a visit is a must from rosa

Aulden Farm is near to Leominster. If you like Iris ensata, sibirica and various bearded OR even more so if you like Hemerocallis, this is the place to go. The display gardens are a treat too and the price of the plants is excellent. Owners are nice too. Look online for details ...

I can second that, my plants were also very good. Splendid variety of plants too.

Hi, I leave half my cannas in the ground over winter the other half I dig up just incase! But the ones in the ground do come up every year, but they don't show till June cos they are late summer/autumn flowers, not brought on like the ones you buy in the garden centre.

I won't be ordering from Sarah Raven again. Mine took three and a half weeks to arrive ( I was told it would be 10 days, and I thought that was long enough). It took three phone calls too!

I would recommend Jekka's Herb Farm http://www.jekkasherbfarm.comI have been buying from her for years...and her stand is usally the first one I visit at Chelsea Flower Show. She has some wonderfully scented varieties of sage and mint!

Went to Homebase this morning - it had been pouring with rain all morning, but I ended up rescuing a courgette pot and a chive pot because they were bone dry - no-one had thought either to water them or put them outside in the rain!
