Don't get me wrong, Im not saying its not a good deal, everyone has diffrent views on these types of things. I just see free as not paying a penny for it.

Interesting thread - thanks DaveP.I will certainly hunt this one out - I live only about 10 miles away.My favourite Devon Garden Centre is Otter Nurseries in Ottery St Mary - maybe not the cheapest, but certainly the most choice of healthy plants I have ever encountered in a garden centre....

He does doesn't he! I picked up a very nice variety called "jackpot" from there. Quite expensive as it doesn't put out runners and is a bit of a ****** to divide apparently, but it is very attractive with dark leaves edged with pale green.

The dealer i usallly get parts from let me down ordering the blade for me mower :rolleyes: so i had a look online and found ordered the blade late wednesday and it came today :thumb: thats what i call good service

With any luck i'll increase my stock as they should be faily easy from cuttings i would imagine.Really nice looking plant, very tropical!! And has been hardy for teh last few winters in southern England. Although I will wait till i have some backups before leaving it out.I dont know...

We visited this small local nurseries last autumn and were very disappointed, but returned recently after a friend recommended it. What a transformation!! Loads of beautiful healthy plants at very reasonable prices - and friendly, knowledgable staff with time to stop and chat. Such a contrast...

Not. They will spend summer in my lovely sheltered porch and winter on the window sill. Not ideal I know, but if I wait for a glass house to give them a try, I will be old before I do. :(

Following on from Ivory's last thread I purchased 2 bare root hibiscus from Thompson & Morgan earlier this year neither grew at all e-mailed them th other day they will replace them no problem.

I found this online Garden Centre very good As i have a busy workload and not much time to shop. I have had three different orders from them now. A Bird Gazeebo, some pebbles and some Flower seeds which i received in 48hrs. Which i thought was excellent service. They have a very good Website...

This discount voucher has now finished, even though this site says you can get it. I tried to use it when I bought some plants but couldn't - so had to pay full price. Me all over - get there too lateefor everything!!

They had an open day recently and I went along hoping to get lots of fuchsias. They didn't have many plants for sale so I couldn't get them, which disappointed me a bit, but they had wonderful displays all round in "bags" which they auctioned off - got a lovely one with Petunia Tumbelina...

Well yes, they are very good friends, but that's primarily because they are good, highly professional and ethical nurserymen in the first place. I've not been over for quite a while and there's plenty of new things I have persuaded myself that I need. Whether there's any room left for more...

I was looking for ornamental grasses and came upon this site. The prices are excellent. I telephoned this afternoon and got an answering machine and someone called me back within a hour. Spring 2009 they are going to add shrubs and perennial plants to their service, so maybe one to watch.
