Absolutely! And it goes by the name of ... grief. Try not to judge them too, too harshly because I am sure they only have Mrs Frost's best interests at heart (even if it may appear to be somewhat insensitive to Lolly's memory). They are extremely fortunate to have found another dog so quickly!

We had this growing at my other house and the scent from the flowers is outstanding!! Kind of put the HT's and floribundas in the shade somewhat!! VAL

Welcome to GC (haven't "seen" you, before now ) If we ignore any "generalisations", may I ask, which type of roses are you asking about? Do you have any specific type in mind? Have you bought them bare rooted, or in a pot? What type of soil will they be planted in? Which 'aspect' will...

I don't think it will do any harm at all if you start now but it might be a bit unnecessary at present as temperatures are still a bit on the low side for the development of fungal problems. However there is a school of thought that suggests that milk can contribute a foliar feeeding effect, so...

Merleworld, You ought to see the price of chips down our local chippy! Everyone loves a bargain and if Morrisons' roses grow . . . enjoy them. I ought to fess up and admit that I also have three Morrisons bargains in the greenhouse that 'her indoors' brought home with the groceries a few weeks back.

I didn't realise they released catalogues for roses this early CRG. Having bought my first roses late last year I'm yet to receive any, if at all. But usually plant sellers don't hold back sending them out after you've ordered from them.
