Roses and Foxgloves incompatible???
I've never heard of a problem with these plants being near each other, Mike - think it's just that your o/h wants rid of the foxgloves!

Climbing Rose covered in black fly
Another vote for Provado from me. If you're so heavily infested, then L-birds larva and H-fly larva can't control them. After using it, use the sprays and soap to keep the little Bxxxxxs off, hope...

I don't know which rambler it is, Dendy, but it has white clusters of flowers. I think Mike's advice is good and will follow that.

To add a little ray of sunshine :D a patio rose that i had all but given up on has now started to bud with Yellow, my favourite colour.It didn't do anything last year but it has popped up...
