    Acer and Crab apple tree

I just left my apple tree alone. I didn't think it a problem. It was just the head gardener who was concerned it would topple over.

    Yew trees in pots!

Oh no! But they were doing okay before they were stood on, yes? Though I suppose they weren't very big anyway so maybe easier to grow at that stage.

That is good news! It's much easier to tackle them before an infestation takes hold, which it can easily do in the warm :). Bonnes fêtes!

Thanks for all your replies. I've taken a chance and sown a couple of dozen seeds in cells. We'll see how they get on. Fingers crossed.

    Sessile oak acorns

I'd leave them outside they often make a root now but under normal conditions they don't grow a shoot until spring.

I'll go back and check, but I think it's best to get rid anyway. My client has packed too many things in while I wasn't looking and I'd be quite happy to get rid. Thank you.

    What happened to this?

Could the birds be attracted to worms boring into the tree. My neighbours have a half dead tree and occasionally I see wood peckers drilling into it to get at the insects in the dead wood.
