Sounds pretty, but have lots of Yellow already.

I've got fingers crossed that the Acer is going to survive. It is showing some signs of life but well behind the others.

I tend to agree with perki - we've had so much rain and the pot isn't on pot feet to help drainage, so it could be the roots have been sitting in a cold bath for months and they've rotted.

Yes - I agree @NigelJ . It's always more difficult to get a mature shrub properly established, unless everything is perfect for it. Small ones can often be easier, especially if they're good specimens to start with, and they have a good site. I currently have a Hebe which has been grown from a...

Hi Pete,Thanks again for your replies.The smaller and thinner ones to the left are a different tree. They are nanten, I think.We get a very little bit of frost on certain days. I wouldn’t say a lot, but not nothing.

Agree, its the (horti)cultural equivalent of stripping meadow for turf.

Azarra serrata is evergreen with clusters of yellow flowers that are fragrant late winter early spring. It can be pruned back but does suffer from prolonged winds but then bounces back.

With the new pictures I don't really have an id. It's hawthorn like but not a native wild type but does look like images I googled of swedish whitebeam. It looks a nice tree

you could speak to a proper tree surgeon, they might be able to help bring it back to life or give advice for other trees that you might want to maintain, if you're based anywhere near the north west I had some trees taken down by Morris Brown Arborist, maybe get in touch
