My parents used to have a line of these. Each set of flopping branches was bound with a stake and metal hoop. Sort of overgrown lupin staking!

The earliest time to prune plums and cherry trees?
I think if my memory serves me correctly i think stone fruit you prune after flowering i.e. cherry and plum, so mid summer is best like you say i think mid June is about the time for pruning but...
