    Bend in young tree

Cheers for replies all. I shall extend the cane and see what happens. It is pretty rigid at the top but I can bend it to secure to a taller cane. Ideally I want it to keep growing taller yet.

Do these willow cuttings need to be cut smaller?

When we did our willows we did them in the Autumn and were told to strip of all the leaves as @Adam l says to reduce transpiration. Still worth giving it a go.

I think it's wide enough, if you mean you want it 800mm wide. They will need some decent light so will they get at least some sunshine in that position.
