    Water Hawthorn dead?

I would do that @latimer - a brick or two would do the job. It's perfectly normal for them to disappear over summer when it's hotter, and they'll grow away again when it's cooler. Late spring and...

    Lock down pond

Your pond is lovely! A haven for wildlife and you’ll see it looking slightly different every day. I hope you have some nearby seating so you can watch the comings and goings!

In need of some advice about a neglected pond

Well, I just found a small brown newt while clearing some brambles. It was perfectly healthy and I moved it to a safer space near the pond where I won't accidentally cause it any harm.
